NOT ALL CANNABIS IS CREATED EQUAL

organic sun grown craft cannabis

Why Outdoor Cannabis?

Cannabis is an outdoor plant that was forced to grow indoors for many years. By opting to grow our plants outdoors the way nature intended, the process is less energy-intensive, and each plant receives the full spectrum of the sun for optimal growing. Since our Canadian climate is cold in the winter months and our growing season is relatively short, we begin our plants indoors allowing for 20 weeks of vegetative growth prior to flowering. This longer growing cycle creates mature plants which, in turn, create a mature flower with a robust terpene profile.

Why Organic?

Here at Greenman Acres, we’re growing a product that will eventually be ingested — so we’re passionate about cultivating our cannabis in its purest, organic form.

Organic farming requires us to approach the farm holistically; as stewards of the land, we care for our living soil by nurturing and feeding it, and this rich soil abundant in nutrients then feeds our plants. We carefully manage our water, inputs and waste, both to keep our plants at optimal health year-round, but also to ensure a sustainable future for our family farm.

How Do We Grow?

At Greenman Acres, our 13-acre field is divided into multiple zones, which are supported by our 5,500 square foot indoor nursery and our 4,200 square foot greenhouse.

Buffer zones and natural pest management are integral to organic principals. We have gone one step further and implemented a natural pest management program in partnership with the University of Guelph, the first study of its kind in Canada.

The micro-climate of our Southern Georgian Bay location provides four additional frost-free weeks of growing time, which we take full advantage of. Our micro-climate, along with sustainable irrigation, natural fertilizers, companion planting and a hillside with 110 feet of elevation change, all come together to produce the unique flavours in our products.

We use only 100% organic inputs.

No synthetic pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers.
